High Demand for Student Accommodation set to increase

The current provision of student housing in South Africa is extremely limited.

The shortage of student accommodation in the country is estimated at 430 000 beds just for Universities.

This equates to approximately 10 University students looking for a place to stay while they study per every one purpose built student housing unit.

This demand for student accommodation has fueled a tremendous surge in student housing which has grown up to 145% in 4 years.

The Vaal River development zone has an existing estimated student housing shortage of 25 000 beds with a huge demand for purpose built accommodation close to the University.

With the proposed development of new academic institutions and the expansion of the present facilities we can expect the demand for student housing to increase accordingly.
